Final reflection on project

 Hi welcome back!! I have BIG news… I have finally finished my film opening project! It has been very fun throughout this process of filming. Thank you for following me along this journey. Even though I had some ups and downs, the process turned out to be a huge success! 

My film “ The Runaway” is a drama film focusing on a  teenage girl named Caitlyn and her struggles with having abusive and alcoholic parents.

As I mentioned before, my inspiration came from a girl named Cassie from the show called Skins. In the show Skins, a girl named Cassie suffers multiple mental health illnesses growing up after being neglected from her parents multiple times. Throughout the show she tends to help herself get better until she finally runs away from all the problems she had been truly affected by, such as her parents and friends. 

This inspiration towards my film opening project allowed me to discover my targeted audience, which are young adult girls, since my inspiration comes from a teenage girl from the show. 

post-production (editing) of CCR

 Hi! Welcome back! So I finished filming my CCR’s and I have decided to show you guys my editing process. I must say the editing for my CCR video that answers questions 3 and 4 was the most difficult to edit.

The editing for the video that answers question 1 and 2 was very simple. I included my clips into iMovie and I adjusted the timing of the audio from the video. I also included normal, fast cuts instead of cross fades or dissolves, which is generally recommended in iMovie.

Th editing for questions 3 and 4 ,however, were more difficult and time consuming to edit than the first CCR video.  Firstly, I had to include all the clips to iMovie, then edit and include the voice recording with the video, match the recording to the clips, speed up the pace of the video, and then include background music. The entire process of editing the video took around 2 hours. I was so tired once I finished!

Production of CCRs

 Hey!! Welcome back! I have great news...ready?... I finally finished my editing of my project and filming my CCR's. I'm so close to being completely done. Yay! Ok anyway, I will show you guys a little behind the scenes of the creation of my CCR.

So, here is a behind the scenes for my first CCR video, which answers question #1 and #2.

I decided to use this setting in my hallway since it had the best lighting, plus it was the only clear white wall in my home. In order to get the angle without movement I used a selfie stick with a stand to get the medium shot.

Now that I have shown you guys the behind the scenes for question #1 and #2, I will show you guys my set for my second video, which answers question #3 and question #4.

In order for me to get a high angle to record, I decided to get creative and add a wood plank between two chairs so when I place my phone camera on top, it will get it at a high angle without any movement shown in the clip.

CCR production ideas

 Hey guys! Welcome back! So I have finally finished my CCR scripts and research. Yayyy! However, I will now talk about a few ideas I have for my production process and set for my CCR’s. 

For my first CCR video, which answers question one and two, I am creating a sort of interview like video with the producer of the film (me), however, they will answer questions asked by fans. So in order for me to film this, I will again record on an iPhone, horizontally while using a phone stand so the video does not shake and instead look more professional. 

So in order to answer the CCR questions in an interview form, I will create a cardboard with questions on it, however they will be covered with tape so the producer will rip it off question by question. This is the inspiration…

For the second question, which answers question three and four, I will be  creating a white board animation. For this I will again film on an iPhone and selfie stick, but the shot will be a sort of high angle and P.O.V shot. Also in order to create the animations I will be using a mini white board like this…

CCR #4

 Heyy! Welcome back! So, I am almost done with my planning for my CCR's! I have one more question to ask which is "How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?

Ok so last question… How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?

Mmm

Well to start off, in order for me to record the scenes I had recorded through an iPhone 16 pro max. However, for a couple scenes I used a selfie stick that was connected to the phone to record in between tight spaces. 

After recording, I decided to use an app called iMovie to edit all my clips, organize them neatly, integrate my sound and audio elements.

CCR #3

 Hey guys! Welcome! As you guys saw from my previous post, I had created a script for my CCR #1 and CCR #2. So, in this blog I will be creating a script for my CCR #3! Before I share my script, I wanted to discuss what I will be doing to answer the question. I will be creating a fast- paced graphic recording using a white board. Here is an example.

Me- Hey guys welcome!

 If you guys saw an interview video that I was in recently, I will be continuing the fan questions here on my channel instead.

 The first question asks " How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

 Ok well, I actually planned everything out before filming.

For example, I gathered all the research I could for my film and posted them individually as one on a platform called Blogger.

It was actually very useful to use. It helped me organize my ideas in order and in groups. 

Also, while I was doing some planning and research for future blogs, I realized that my previous blogs didn't match up to what I wanted it to be, so I made a few changes and adaptations.

The first idea I had was either including audio elements or not. My original idea was to not include audio elements, however, as I filmed for my project, I began to reflect on my film and brainstormed that some suspense or mysterious music would create a stronger and deep mood, compared to complete silence.

CCR #2 Research

  Hey guys! In this blog I will be showing you guys my script and link that answer question #2 for my CCR.

Ok this is my script...

Me- Ok next question They asked, " How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text."

Me- Wow! That was a great question!

Me- Well to start off, as you guys know my film “The Runaway” is a drama film, focusing on the struggles of a teenage girl, which most likely targets teens and young adults.

Me- I believe our audience are most likely girls since girls are generally more emotional than men.

Me- since my chosen genre is Drama, it focuses on emotions, relationships connections, and personal challenges, connecting to the process of how teenage girls feel while going through puberty. Also according to statistics, women and girls are more empathetic than men, more reason as to why women and girls love the drama genre.

Another choice of mine was making the main character the same age as the viewer. Making the main character the same age to the viewers helps create a connection between the viewers.

Me- I have also actually thought of publishing my film through YouTube, since it is the largest streaming platform here in the United States. However, to advertise my film, I had brainstormed on showing snippets of my film on TikTok, since majority of young people use TikTok.

Back producer- Welcome

Me- Hi! 

Me- So I'm Katalina Bustamante and I am the producer of my newest film coming out called "The Runaway".

Me- I am here today to answer some questions you guys have been wanting to ask.

Me- Ok first question is...How does your product use or challenge conventions an how it represents social groups or issues?

Me- Oh ok well my film, "The Runaway", includes a very dramatic storyline following a very deep and emotional feeling. In the film, it shows how Caitlyn feels really sad and angry over the fact that her parents are never present, following a sad tone and theme.

In the film, it also shows a strong convention of relationship connections. As you have seen, Caitlyn does not have a great connection with her parents. Her parents are both alcoholics, abusive, and absent. These actions from her parents led the connection between them to drift apart, following the convention of relationship connections.

The film strongly depicts a very sensitive and emotional feeling towards the audiences, most likely relating towards their own life and past experiences.
