Hello everyone! As you have read from my previous post, I have introduced the characters for my film opening and some costume ideas. In this post I will demonstrate some outfit ideas I have put together for each of my characters and a couple of props will be used in my film opening.
For the main character, Caitlyn, I recently talked about her wearing a grey zip-up hoodie with loose jeans and boots or a black hoodie with tight jeans and converse. I have decided that she will wear a black hoodie with loose jeans and boots. This is the outfit inspiration…
So for Caitlyn's dad I had mentioned that he would wear either a white, stained tank top with jeans and socks with a whole or a dirty, white t-shirt with jeans and boots. So, I have decided that he will wear a stained t-shirt with jeans and boots.
Now that I have demonstrated the costume ideas, I am going to illustrate and discuss what props i will use for my film.
The first prop I will use will be alcohol bottles. The bottles will be shown all throughout the house to illustrate what kind of family this is. Throughout the film opening, bottles will be shown in every room of the house, on tables and on the floor. This is a very important prop, as it is how the climax of the film opening occurred. As Caitlyn walks to the living room to run away she accidentally trips and knocks a
bottle, causing it to break and wake up her dad who appears to be sleeping on the couch drunk and mad. These are the bottles I will use...
The second prop I will use will be a big bookbag. The big bookbag will be used when Caitlyn decides to start packing her stuff to run away. The bookbag that will be shown throughout the whole film will be a black, traveling bookbag to demonstrate how much things she is packing, illustrating that she will not return. The last prop that will be used will be a phone. The phone will be shown for a little but will have a strong significance to the film opening. The phone will be used to show the voicemail Caitlyn receives from her mom, sparking one of the many reasons why she is running away from home. This will be the prop that we will use...
